AUSTIN (KXAN) -- An upper-level low is moving east through southern New Mexico/far west Texas this morning. It is this system that will bring Central Texas its first rain of 2024 starting as early as 10 a.m. in the southern Hill Country. The afternoon forecast is for area-wide showers and a few thunderstorms.The precipitation will continue in the evening but will taper overnight. NEW: 2023 was Austin's hottest year on record It will be a chilly day with temperatures not getting out of the 40s in some of the Hill Country. Most highs this afternoon will warm to the upper 40s to low 50s. The normal high this afternoon is 62°.Wednesday and Thursday will be dry before the next rain arrives on Thursday night into Friday (70%). BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Nani's Indian Kitchen, located at 265 Milton Avenue in Ballston Spa, has closed its doors. The restaurant's last day was December 30. Get the latest news, weather, sports and more delivered right to your inbox! Owner Nafeesa Koslik told NEWS10 that the last year had been difficult for the restaurant with the cost of food going up. Sales were also down 50% over the last year and a half. Koslik said she had to get another job to support her family in addition to running Nani's.Nani's Indian Kitchen opened in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. Although the brick-and-mortar restaurant space has closed, Koslik said she'll still be serving up her Indian food at pop-ups and farmers' markets. SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Schenectady County Sheriff's Office has confirmed with NEWS10 that they are currently searching for two missing vulnerable adults. ST. LOUIS – A man is fighting for his life Tuesday morning. Police say two men brutally attacked the victim, leaving him unconscious. Investigators say afterwards, the suspects struck the victim with a bottle, cut him, and urinated on him.The assault happened at the intersection of Jefferson and Delmar, just before 9:30 p.m. That's in northeast midtown, right on the cusp of the Jeff-Vander-Lou and Carr Square neighborhoods. It's within 500 feet of the Scott Joplin House and not far from KIPP St. Louis High School.There are also several businesses in the area. It's unclear if the victim or attackers were leaving any of those businesses when the crime happened.
